The People’s Organization of the Municipality of Quezon, BULIWAO MULTI-SECTORAL WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION, requested for technical assistance from the Architecture Department of SMU to formulate a Master Development Plan for their proposed Ecotourism Project in Buliwao, Quezon.
The proposal is a community-based ecotourism project and aims to improve forest management in the watersheds of Buliwao and Maasin and likewise help uplift the living conditions of the people of Quezon by providing them an income generating development. It is being supported by the Municipal Local Government of Quezon, Provincial Government of Nueva Vizcaya, Friends of the Environment for Development and Sustainability, Inc (NGO – FRENDS), and DENR.
Last August 23, 2008 the SMU Planning 1 Class and UAPSA members, together with UAPNV President Arch. Jona and Vice President for Programs and Development Arch. Bobby, conducted a SITE VISIT in Buliwao, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya.
This outreach project will not only help the people’s organization of Quezon realize their vision for the said development but will likewise provide a venue for students to learn more about planning and sustainable design. The UAP Nueva Vizcaya Chapter members will act as consultants. This is also one way of living up to an architect's responsibility not only to the people, the community but also to the natural environment... The final presentation of the proposed plan will be on the last week of September 2008...

| | Last July 26, 2008, the UAPSA Officers prepared a Welcome Party for the Arki Freshmen... Each of the year levels prepared a cheer and an intermission number and a series of short lectures were given by the Senior Students to help them cope with their plates and assignments...
Engr. Myrna, our CE and Arki Dept Head, and Arch. Tom gave short messages to inspire the newbies in the department... The afternoon was also filled with games and a lot of picture taking... as in a lot... |
| | Last July 19, 2008, the SOEA Acquaintance Party was held at the Tonus Gymnasium.
All organization officers took their oath of office for the school year 2008-2009. UAPSA-SMU was also named as one of the Three Most Active Organizations of the School of Engineering and Architecture.
The Certificate of Appreciation was received by the UAPSA Chapter President, Jeff A. Reginaldo.
It was an afternoon of fun and laughter. The Arkistahins performed a dance number together with their three instructors - arch. jona, arch. tom and arch. bobby. The department was also recognized for the "groovy" decoration.

Mga 3rd Year makiki wokaton tour churva kay CARLOS CELDRAN sa Intramuros at CCP Complex-tpos 2 days na wokaton ulet sa VIGAN, PAOAY, LOAOG at pag kaya pa ng powers nila sa BATAC pa... HAPPY TRIP MGA ABNOY!!! Pasalubong daw sabi ng mga ading 1st and 2nd Years!!!
